"Mack's program is very strict, and McHenry is very proud, not only to have achieved recertification in 2000, but also to have improved our score this year," said Sam Sarsalari, plant manager. " The credit goes to our employees, who have done a great job.

Andrew Lukoff, manager of logistics for Mack, said the plant was evaluated on a daily basis for an initial three-month time period in 1999 and for an annual one-month period starting in 2000. Modine was rated on the number and percentage of past-due parts; number of expediting activities required by Mack; impact on production; early and late shipments; random quality audits; and electronic data interchange capabilities.

The plant provides Mack with serpentine air-conditioning condensers for use on trucks assembled in Macungie, Pa. The McHenry plant employs 175 people.
