The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has established the Louis V. Kleinstiver Institute, dedicated to promoting commercial truck and transportation safety. The institute aims to achieve this via research, training and seminars, and will award scholarships to post-high school students for engineering and related sciences.
“The institute promotes the production of safe commercial trucks, which is fundamental is supporting the NTEA’s mission,” said NTEA executive director Jim Carney.
The institution was named after the late Louis Kleinstriver, who served the association for 16 years as director of technical services. NTEA said his contributions to the industry helped over 3,000 truck equipment mechanics become ASE-certified.
