Peterbilt Motors Company and Eaton Corp. are providing complimentary extended warranty coverage on select Eaton transmissions for all new Peterbilt heavy duty conventional models equipped with engines certified for the October 2002 EPA emissions standards.

The program provides 100% parts and labor coverage for five years or 500,000 miles on certain transmissions in vehicles spec'd for construction or general freight applications. The offer includes Eaton 8LL, ALL, and 13-, 15- and 18-speed transmission models, said Peterbilt.

Peterbilt gm Nick Panza the complimentary warranty package is part of an effort to provide customers with "peace of mind" as the industry transitions to new low-emission diesel engines.

Panza added that Peterbilt is also offering discounts on lightweight components, such as its FLEX Air suspension and aluminum wheels, plus extended coverage for select Cummins EGR engines to offset customer concerns about the impact low-emission engines may have on their operations.
