Ryder in parts deal with Waste Management

With over 50,000 collection and support vehicles and more than 7,000 heavy-equipment units, Waste Management is one of the largest aftermarket parts users in the U.S., said Miami-based Ryder. Under the agreement, Ryder’s online service will serve as one of three tier-one parts suppliers and one of six parts suppliers overall for Waste Management. It will provide vehicle chassis parts to Waste Management’s entire North American fleet.

Ryder is also charged under the contract with building optimal inventory levels at its three distribution centers to manage timely shipment of aftermarket parts to Waste Management maintenance districts.

Ryderfleetproducts.com is a B2B Internet site designed to provide businesses and fleet managers with resources to assist in the planning, ordering and delivery of fuel, lubricants and a wide range of aftermarket parts and equipment to maintain truck and automotive fleets. It has 20,000 catalog items and 150 product lines offered from more than 130 suppliers, and operates around-the-clock.

Houston-based Waste Management is a $13-billion waste hauler that employs 60,000 at 300 landfills, 16 waste-to-energy plants, more than 450 transfer stations and over 1,400 collection facilities which provide recycling and waste collection services.
