Global supply chain and transportation management company Ryder System Inc. has acquired the fulfillment operations ofSameday.com Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of software for supply chain event management. Terms of the acquisition were not released.

Miami-based Ryder's existing network of fulfillment centers that support its e-Channel Solutions (eCS) business are in Alliance, TX; Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and Odenton, MD. The addition of the former Sameday facilities located in Newark, NJ, and Memphis, TN, expand Ryder's eCS distribution capabilities and customer base.

eCS offers end-to-end supply chain solutions in both the business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) markets for customers in the telecommunications, electronic, high-tech, aerospace, apparel and jewelry industries.

The new owner says Sameday will focus on broadly commercializing its proprietary Syntempo software suite, which provides customers with control over inventory and orders throughout an extended supply network since 1999. Initially, Ryder will use Syntempo as an execution platform at the acquired facilities and at Ryder's Alliance facility for the acquired customers.
