Ryder System Inc. has announced it has added a new Carrier Portal (CP) to RyderTrac, a real-time web-based shipment tracker.
“The Carrier Portal is an additional customer service tool to help Ryder better manage its customers’ transportation network,” said Chuck Lounsbury, Ryder senior vp— sales & marketing for U.S. supply chain & transportation management solutions. “By facilitating real-time communication and collaboration between shippers and carriers, Ryder customers are able to increase inventory turns and the cash-to-cash cycle.”
CP allows carriers to manage status updates for all loads and shipments. On the main CP screen, carriers that have been contracted to support a Ryder customer can view information on their loads en route, as well as information on their entire day’s load plans and future load plans already tendered.
