Minorplanet Systems USA Inc. has announced that SBC Communications Inc. has signed a one-year extension of its agreement for Minorplanet to provide mobile location and communication services to SBC's service vehicle fleet through January 2004.
Richardson, TX-based Minorplanet provides location and communication services to about 34,800 service vehicles operated by member companies of SBC Communications.
Minorplanet markets, sells and supports Vehicle Management Information, a fleet management system designed for higher customer revenues and improved operator efficiency. It uses global positioning system (GPS) and wireless vehicle telematics to monitor vehicles in real time.
