Schneider Logistics, a provider of technology driven third-party logistics services and software applications, has announced a strategic relationship with Vitria Technology Inc. Vitria will provide Schneider Logistics and its trading partners the ability to electronically bond together with an end-to-end business process management solution.

BusinessWare will be used both internally and externally by Schneider Logistics to ensure messages from key partners cross the firewall and directly automate functions in Schneider Logistics' existing enterprise infrastructure. Programs such as Lawson, Oracle 8i and IBM's DB2 will be integrated on Vitria, using transport mechanisms ranging from EDI to XML to HTTPS.

"Schneider was looking for a vendor who could take our existing business processes and electronically automate them with our internal systems and with our trading partners," said Steve Matheys, CIO of Schneider Logistics. "Vitria had the most proven business process management platform to achieve this goal."
