TCA Elects Chairman; Awards Industry Vet

KONA, HI— At its annual meeting, the Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) elected Lance Craig, president of Craig Transportation, chairman for 2004-2005. Craig served as first vice chairman of TCA (2003-2004), chairman of the North American Transportation Management Institute, and board member of the Truckload Academy. KONA, HI— At its annual meeting, the Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) elected Lance Craig, president of Craig Transportation, chairman for 2004-2005.

Craig served as first vice chairman of TCA (2003-2004), chairman of the North American Transportation Management Institute, and board member of the Truckload Academy.

Craig is also active with the American Trucking Associations (ATA), serving on its Tax Policy Committee, Technology & Engineering Committee, and Chairman’s Membership Committee.

OH-based Craig Transportation, which specializes in retail deliveries, is TCA’s oldest member.

In other TCA convention news, Howard O’Malley received the Past Chairman’s Award, which recognizes leaders who contribute to the business community, the industry and TCA.

O’Malley founded B&T Express with just a few trucks in 1985, and expanded the business to specialize in hauling steel with a fleet of 200 trucks. During his 50-year career, he has served as chair of TCA, chair of the Steel Carriers of the American Trucking Assn. and the Carriers Tariff Assn. O’Malley is also active in the Ohio Trucking Assn. and the Ohio Turnpike Advisory Board.
