The International Brotherhood of Teamsters postponed two industry-related events last week because of the terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington.
National negotiations with TNT Logistics, which Teamsters general president James P. Hoffa said might have led to tentative agreements on some substantial collective bargaining issues, will take place in the immediate future. The union was to have a negotiating session to reach agreement on grievances and discipline, representation and subcontracting.
The 2002 UPS Contract Campaign Kickoff Rally was scheduled to take place yesterday in Lake Success, NY. A make-up date has not been determined.
Hoffa said the Teamsters’ thoughts and prayers are with those families who have experienced the tragedy of the attacks.
