    USF Distribution, a logistics subsidiary of LTL carrier USFreightways Corp., has opened two new service centers, one in Houston and the other in Lakeland, FL. The operations will provide a full range of logistics services, including overnight distribution and consolidation, and cross-docking to their respective markets, said USF.

    The Houston location, operating a 70,000-sq-ft facility, will serve the South Texas market including Austin, Laredo and San Antonio. Lakeland, providing coverage to central and south Florida including the Miami, Orlando and Tampa areas, will operate from a modern 65,000-sq-ft facility.

    The company currently has 17 service centers located in fifteen metropolitan markets, and provides direct service to 55% of the U.S. population.
