NAFTA Factories Roll Out More Trucks

According to a Wards report released Friday, truck production— which includes light-, medium- and heavy-duty— within the U.S. in 2004 to date is 2.75 million units, a 3.3% increase over the same period last year.

Last week Wards estimated that 167,412 trucks were built in the U.S., down 0.95% from the week before. NAFTA truck production last week was estimated at 213,435, falling 2% from the previous week.

Year-to-date 2004 NAFTA truck production is up 2.7% from the previous year, with an estimated 3.47 million units built.
