The Asset Intelligence unit of GE's Equipment Services business recently entered into a partnership with Globalstar LLC to access its LEO satellite network to expand GE’s VeriWise trailer tracking suites. According to GE, this move will also help make it a solutions provider for the rail and domestic and international intermodal markets.
“This year we will add further capabilities to our VeriWise trailer solutions suite and bring to market solutions for the rail and domestic and international intermodal markets,” said Thomas Konditi, president & CEO of GE’s Asset Intelligence unit. “Beyond location data, we will provide greater insight on asset status and cargo condition on the global railroads - essential elements of the shipment.”
Asset Intelligence uses Orbcomm low earth-orbiting (LEO) satellite systems for its asset tracking and monitoring services.
