TSA launches HazMat information website

The Transportation Security Administration has provided a website to serve as a nexus for HazMat endorsement applications, application submission, payment, and directions for fingerprinting sections at www.hazprints.com.

Currently, new applicants for HazMat endorsement are required to undergo fingerprint-based background checks, with renewal applicants due for the same process starting on May 31, 2005.

Drivers are required to renew their HazMat endorsements once every five years, although states may require more frequent renewals.
