According to HMM, the new complex will provides it and its U.S. sales arm, Hino Motor Sales U.S.A., the ability to leverage the highly skilled resources in the local area and expand its presence in the U.S.

“In moving our U.S. headquarters to the heart of automobile industry, we place ourselves in an excellent position to further expand our market share and better coordinate our manufacturing operations in the U.S.,” said Hideichiro Chikahiro, president of HMM.

The nearly 34,000-sq-ft facility, located at 37777 Interchange Drive, employs 20 but there are plans to increase staffing to 30 over the next three years.

“This new facility represents the continuation of a partnership with Hino and Toyota that strengthens our state’s position as the leader in the automotive industry,” noted Michigan Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm (D).
