LinkAmerica Corp. has placed an order with Stoughton Trailers for 550 trailers, which will be equipped the Meritor Automatic Tire Inflation System (MTIS) by PSI interfacing with Terion’s Fleetview Trailer Management System. The combination allows carriers to track trailer location as well as event information as well as maintain tire pressure.
Through this setup, the system will alert fleet headquarters via text messaging or the product’s web interface if there are problems with tire inflation, according to Pressure Systems International (PSI), the maker of the MTIS.
“It’s easy for LinkAmerica to then set up a service call with an authorized tire vendor in the area and instruct their driver to deliver the trailer for repair,” said Debra Moore, PSI marketing coordinator and regional sales manager.
