Birmingham, AL-based McLeod Software has announced its second consecutive year of more than 50% annual software sales growth

Birmingham, AL-based McLeod Software has announced its second consecutive year of more than 50% annual software sales growth. In 2005, the company set an all-time new annual sales record, with 60% growth over 2004. In 2004, software sales increased 51% over 2003.

The firm said sales of its LoadMaster transportation management solutions were strong in most segments of the truckload industry. “We finished with the best sales in our 20-year history,” said Rick Halbrooks, vp—sales & marketing.

Halbrooks attributed the strong sales to several factors. “The economy has been good, and carriers are taking the opportunity to upgrade their software and hardware systems to a more sophisticated system. They want to operate more efficiently and provide better service to their customers.”

Halbrooks anticipates continued growth in software sales, “We are already on track to exceed sales projections for the first quarter of 2006,” he stated. “We anticipate the need for software solutions in the trucking industry to continue to grow through 2006. We also expect that the pending release of our enhanced Brokerage/Logistics product will help us solidify our lead in this segment of the market,” he added.
