The American Trucking Associations (ATA) has awarded ABF Freight System, Inc. its 2004 Excellence in Security Award. The honor was made in recognition of the company’s cargo security measures.

The carrier’s program is run by 16 regional security managers— all of them former law enforcement officers— that coordinate with ABF management, local, state and federal authorities, and regulators.

“An efficient, reliable supply chain requires a carrier that can deliver goods in-tact, on-time, damage-free and without security delays,” said ABF president & CEO Robert Davidson.

The award marks the 28th honor in security practices the company has received from ATA.
