Transportation software developer TMW Systems and satellite communications provider SkyBitz are teaming up to create a trailer tracking module for fleet management systems

Transportation software developer TMW Systems and satellite communications provider SkyBitz are teaming up to create a trailer tracking module for fleet management systems. As part of this arrangement, TMW will resell SkyBitz products and services to its customers.

The system monitors trailers in real-time, and is capable of alerting customers if a trailer door is opened before it reaches its planned destination or if a trailer in misrouted. The module will also provide improved detention tracking, TMW said.

“The integration of the trailer-tracking data provided by the SkyBitz GLS technology into our world-class fleet management portfolio will lead to increased efficiencies and profitability for our customers,” stated Tom Weisz, TMW president & CEO.
