Shell Lubricants is making available a free CD that provides guidelines on how to convert a heavy-duty diesel engine’s cooling system from conventional to extended life coolant.

“The use of extended life coolant has proven to be a successful, cost-effective alternative to conventional and fully-formulated coolants,” said Dan Arcy, technical marketing manager for Shell. “We produced the CD to help simplify the conversion for all of our customers.”

For example, the CD explains that upon conversion using Shell ELC conversion fluid, the engine’s cooling system is protected for up to 600,000 miles or 12,000 hours of service.
