Phoenix-based truckload carrier Swift Transportation has appointed Mark Young to be executive vp of Swift Intermodal Inc., replacing Dan Beers, who has accepted a position with another company.
Young has served as vp of Swift Intermodal for the past year and has a combined 25 years of experience in the transportation industry with ABF Freight Systems, CSX Intermodal and Hub Group.
“Our intermodal strategy remains on track and we are moving forward with Mark Young as our new executive vp,” said Robert Cunningham, Swift’s president & CEO. “The first of our 1,500 new containers are arriving at the Port of Los Angeles this week and we continue to bring the containers from BNSF into our system as previously planned.”
