Asset tracking provider TransCore has made a five-year deal with Telenor Satellite Services for Telenor to serve as a distributor of TransCore’s GlobalWave asset tracking products throughout Europe. It will use Telenor’s Inmarsat satellite capacity to transmit tracking data.
“Over the past decade, the need to track and monitor assets has reached a crucial turning point, particularly with the evolving and stringent security measures now required due to the current international state of affairs,” said Anders Kallerud, Telenor’s executive vp.
“Companies require reliable and remote communications in numerous vertical markets such as marine, rail, container, intermodal, and heavy equipment,” he added. “Offering complementary technologies, Telenor and TransCore have entered into a distribution agreement that enhances both companies’ services to monitor high dollar assets in a myriad of environments.”
Kallerud noted that with more than 400 service providers globally, Telenor offers an infrastructure for international distribution and technical support.
The combination of this established network and GlobalWave product offerings makes solutions readily available to the European community and provides a software developer’s toolbox to create market-specific tracking and asset management applications, added John Worthington, TransCore’s president.
