Volvo Trucks North America, Inc. has announced it has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union on a three-year contract that would cover approximately 2,800 workers at Volvo’s New River Valley, VA plant.
The ratification meeting will be held Feb. 13, said UAW spokesperson Roger Kerson. The UAW workers are currently working without a contract since its expiration on Jan. 31. But if the agreement is ratified, the contract will be retroactive to the beginning of February, Kerson explained.
