New Penn Motor Express and USF Reddaway, both subsidiaries of YRC Worldwide, are joining together to offer a new transcontinental freight service

New Penn Motor Express and USF Reddaway, both subsidiaries of YRC Worldwide, are joining together to offer a new transcontinental freight service. It’s designed to turn the regional providers into one-stop-shops for coast-to-coast coverage.

The new program links New Penn operations in the Northeast with USF Reddaway operations in the Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountains, said Steve Gast, president of New Penn. “Our Northeast customers need fast service to the West, so with this service, we can provide three-day delivery to the Rocky Mountain States and four-day delivery to most points beyond,” he noted.

This new transcontinental service builds on previous partnership efforts, added Ed Fitzgerald, president of USF Reddaway. “We’ve been offering eastbound service using New Penn since October 2005,” he said “So together, we provide customers with the coast-to-coast coverage they want.”

Jim Staley, president & CEO of YRC Regional Transportation, said the partnership approach among the company’s providers can deliver faster transit times, improved reliability and superior service quality. YRC Regional Transportation, he noted, is comprised of USF Holland, USF Reddaway, USF Bestway, USF Glen Moore and New Penn. Together, and is focused on serving the next-day, second-day and time-sensitive markets on a national basis.
