CRH acquires California-based companies BoDean and Northgate Ready Mix

April 9, 2024
The acquisitions add two aggregate quarries, two ready-mix concrete plants, one asphalt plant, and one recycle plant to the operations of CRH, the 2023 FleetOwner 500 Private Fleet of the Year.

CRH, the 2023 FleetOwner 500 Private Fleet of the Year, recently acquired BoDean Company and Northgate Ready Mix in Santa Rosa, California. The acquisitions represent the first entry by CRH’s Materials Solutions business into California and enhance its ability to provide integrated solutions to customers in the Northern California market.

Both companies complement CRH’s Materials Solutions business in the Western U.S. and add two aggregate quarries, two ready-mix concrete plants, one asphalt plant, and one recycle plant to its operations.

“We are delighted to welcome all BoDean and Northgate employees to the CRH family,” said Scott Parson, president of Americas Materials Solutions at CRH. “The construction market in California is one of the largest in the United States and presents CRH with attractive opportunities for development and growth. As North America’s leading integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mixed concrete, we look forward to helping build, connect, and improve Northern California and serving customers with our unique combination of building materials, products, and solutions.”

At the end of 2023, CRH and Volvo Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate net-zero innovations in the design and deployment of on-road vehicles and off-road equipment used in construction. Volvo Group aims to have 35% fully electric sales by 2030 and be net-zero in its value chain by 2040. CRH targets a 30% reduction in group-wide emissions by 2030 and will become a net-zero business by 2050.
