Applications are now being accepted for the Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) Company Equipment Driver of the Year and TCA Owner Operator of the Year

Applications are now being accepted for the Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) Company Equipment Driver of the Year and TCA Owner Operator of the Year.

Preliminary applications are being accepted until Sept. 18, 2009. Drivers invited into the second round of the contests will need to finalize applications by Oct. 30, 2009. Winners will be announced at TCA’s annual convention Feb 28 through March 3, 2010, at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort in Las Vegas.

To be eligible for the company equipment contest, drivers must be nominated by the TCA-member motor carrier they drive for and must have been employed by that carrier for at least three years. Candidates must also have one million consecutive, accident-free miles and will be judged on their performance records, efforts to enhance the image of the trucking industry and positive contributions to the community.

The owner operator award is for drivers and/or driver teams who own their own truck and have been contracted to a TCA-member company for at least three years. Applicants may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. The requirements are the same as the company driver contest plus candidates will be evaluated on their ability to run a successful business.
