Advanced Disposal will convert 40 vehicles over the next 18 months to operate on compressed natural gas in Pennsylvania. The company is receiving assistance in the conversion through two grants awarded from the state of Pennsylvania as part of the $7.7 million Act 13.
Advanced Disposal currently has 150 CNG trucks running routes throughout the company. It will add the 40 vehicles at its DuBois and Norristown, PA, locations, increasing the fleet by 25%.
“We are always looking for ways to improve our fleet to run cleaner and greener, and CNG is certainly a large part of our efforts,” said Brian Beaudrie, fleet director. “We commend the state of Pennsylvania for their commitment to cleaner air and are truly grateful for this grant.”
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. will provide the CNG for the vehicles.
