LONG BEACH, CA. Fleet Owner presented it's 2016 Green Fleet of the Year Award to New York City Fleet during the opening ceremonies at the 2016 Advanced Clean Technologies (ACT) Expo here in Southern California.
One of the largest, if not the largest municipal fleet in the country, currently owns 6,000 hybrid cars and trucks, 200 natural gas vehicle, 900 electric vehicles and 140 solar mobile units. N.Y.'s Dept. of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), which is responsible for supporting 50 different city agency fleets announced a commitment to reduce vehicle emissions by 80% by 2035 and to invest $3.5 billion over the next 10 years to meet that goal.
On hand at ACT Expo to receive the award was Keith Kerman, NYC Fleet's deputy commissioner and chief fleet officer.
