Webinar for those interested in New York Clean Truck incentives

An upcoming webinar will address questions and participating in the New York Truck-Voucher Incentive Program (NYT-VIP).

The New York Clean Truck Incentives webinar will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, from 2-3 p.m. EST. The webinar is for fleets, manufacturers, dealers and Northeast stakeholders interested in learning about the benefits of New York’s incentive programs and the opportunity to advance clean vehicle technologies in the region.

Alycia Gilde, NYT-VIP Project Leader, Northeast Representative, Calstart, will be one of the speakers. Also participating is Susan McSherry, program manager, alternative fuels program, New York City Dept. of Transportation. McSherry will speak about the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (HPCTP), a $15 million first-come, first-served voluntary clean trucks program to provide rebate incentives to truck owners that are based and/or operate regularly in the South Bronx communities of Hunts Point and Port Morris. HPCTP offers rebate incentives for the use of alternative fuel and clean diesel vehicle technologies, DECDs and vehicle scrapping to help improve air quality and public health in the South Bronx.

Also speaking will be Jim Moore, program manager, Accion USA, a micro-lender. Moore will talk about Accion’s progress in helping truck drivers purchase new trucks that are better for business and the environment through innovative micro-lending and grant programs.
