Westport receives EPA certification for 2015 models with WiNG system

Aug. 21, 2014

Westport said the Environmental Protection Agency has awarded certification for use of its WiNG system on additional model-year 2015 vehicles.

Ford’s E-450, F-450, F-550, F-650 and F-59 models can all be spec’d with the WiNG system. All the vehicles are certified for the 6.8L V10 engine. Each model is available with a gaseous prep package from the Ford factory.

The WiNG system is a natural gas power solution that does not alter the factory warranties. As a  partner in Ford’s Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) program, Westport currently offers nine MY 2015 vehicles that are EPA certified. Westport vehicles offer QVM products developed in conjunction with Ford, featuring original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality, it said.

All Westport operated trucks undergo the same safety testing required for all Ford OEM products and the Ford warranty remains intact.
