New for the 2015 Sprinter van is a safety technology dubbed “Crosswind Assist,” which will be a standard feature on Sprinter 2500 models. Using additional software algorithms within the van’s electronic stability program (ESP) architecture, Crosswind Assist is designed to compensate for the effects of wind gusts on the vehicle when traveling over 50 mph on the highway – reducing the need for sudden counter-steering and by extension reducing the risk of crashing due to driver overreaction.
