ALK names speakers for annual Technology Summit

Dec. 16, 2014

ALK has announced that Mark V. Rosenker and Noel Perry will provide their perspectives on the industry at the 11th Annual ALK Transportation Technology Summit, May 4-7, 2015, in Princeton, NJ.

The Rosenker was chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) from 2005-2009. He is currently the president of Transportation Safety Group and a contributing analyst on transportation safety issues for CBS News. While chairman of the NTSB, Rosenker presided over inquiries into some of the most devastating transportation events in recent history, including the 2007 collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis; the cargo ship collision into the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and the midair collision of two emergency medical helicopters in Flagstaff, AZ, both in 2008; and the crash of a regional airliner near Buffalo, NY, in February 2009.

“We’re honored to have former chairman of the NTSB, Mark Rosenker, join our 2015 Tech Summit as a featured speaker. His unparalleled expertise and extensive leadership in transportation safety is well recognized within the industry,” said Michael Kornhauser, executive vice president and general manager of ALK. “Safety is always a top priority for ALK and for all companies in the transportation and logistics space. Mark provides an expert perspective on the industry and the state of our national infrastructure that we’re dependent on for safe, reliable transportation. We look forward to his thoughts on how to use history to improve safety and his outlook on what’s ahead.”

Perry is founder of Transportation Economics. An economist specializing in transportation and logistics, his career spans over 40 years, with 30 spent in senior research positions at Schneider National, Cummins Engine and CSX. With experience in the rail, truck, barge and supplier sectors, Perry focuses on customer logistics economics, North American transportation demand, carrier competition and ground-breaking research on truck driver supply and demand.

“Companies in the transportation and logistics industry are focusing on the application of big data and analytics to solve business problems and improve the bottom line,” said Dan Popkin, senior vice president of Enterprise Solutions, ALK. “Noël’s unique, data-driven perspective on key issues in transport economics is eye opening for those looking to the numbers for business success.”

The ALK Transportation Technology Summit is a leadership exchange of best practices through case study and thought leadership presentations. The conference will provide transportation, logistics and manufacturing companies with actionable information on the latest innovations and technology trends to improve operational efficiencies and accelerate revenue growth potential.

New for the 2015 event, ALK is now offering an Interactive Training Program, which will take place at the conclusion of the leadership exchange. Requested by previous attendees, ALK experts will lead educational sessions geared towards the latest functionality and implementation of ALK’s suite of products.
