EFS, Cat Scale launch mobile payment option

Jan. 8, 2015

Drivers using Cat Scale’s Weigh My Truck mobile app can now make payments through the app with an Electronic Funds Source (EFS) card.

The new mobile app allows drivers to automate the weigh station process and never leave the truck when they link their EFS card to CAT Scale’s Weigh My Truck app. The mobile app, linked to the EFS card, can be used to weigh and pay at any of CAT Scale’s 1,550 locations nationwide.

“We’re excited about this new payment solution and the value it brings, not only to our fleet customers, but to our industry’s drivers,” said Karl Kelley, senior vice president of merchant services and channel sales for EFS. “We’ve seen a significant positive impact on hours of service and driver satisfaction among our customers using this mobile app payment solution, as drivers are spending less time weighing and more time on the road.”

Drivers can create their account at www.weighmytruck.com, select their EFS card as a form of payment, complete the simple registration process and download the mobile app to their smartphone device. When a driver then goes to weigh at any CAT Scale location, the mobile app uses the GPS location of the mobile device to initiate the point-of-sale allowing the driver to weigh. The mobile app then prompts the driver for authentication verification and authorizes the transaction on the driver’s registered EFS Card. The Weigh My Truck mobile app is available free for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“We understand how valuable time is to a driver,” said Delia Meier, senior vice president of Cat Scale Co. “Using the Weigh My Truck app significantly reduces the total time it takes a driver to weigh. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the option of using their EFS card as a form of payment, thus expanding the Weigh My Truck app usability to thousands more professional drivers.”
