Glacier unveils new rugged forklift terminal

Dec. 18, 2012

Glacier Computer has released a new addition to its Everest line of fixed and vehicle mount terminals. The new E4500 is designed for warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and logistics applications.

The Everest E4500 utilizes the Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor and comes in 10 in., 12 in. and 15 in. resistive touchscreen displays, along with optional screen blanking. Utilizing a solid state drive with both Windows and Linux operating systems, multiple I/O ports, vibration testing and a wide range of operational temperatures, the computer is designed to operate in the most rugged environments, the company said.

“The Everest line of VMT’s has become an industry favorite. The E4500 adds more enhanced features but more importantly, increases the bottom line and offers additional options within the Everest product line,” said Ron D’Ambrosio, CEO. “Customers are always challenged with the decision to replace existing hardware or continue to repair older devices. Our job is to supply options and give advice on the best solution. Given the stability of the Everest product line, many customers today are electing to upgrade their older equipment rather than purchase new products. The E4500 is another solution from our toolkit for customers to consider.”
