GlobalTranz enables MacroPoint

Technology-enabled logistics company specializing in freight management services integrates MacroPoint load tracking capability

MacroPoint announced that GlobalTranz has fully integrated the MacroPoint load tracking solution into its proprietary TMS platform to better serve customers and automate track and trace capabilities for truckload carriers.

“We made the decision to enable our first load tracking solution, and after researching providers in the field we determined that MacroPoint offered the best solution for our business,” said Ben Buchanan, VP of Truckload Operations at GlobalTranz. “Track and trace automation allows our carrier sales team to focus on procuring new capacity for our growing network, booking more transactions and increasing loads per rep performance. Additionally, MacroPoint technology reduces outbound calls from carrier sales staff to carrier partners. With MacroPoint communicating real-time location updates, we are able to enhance and improve our overall customer satisfaction.”

“We find the MacroPoint feature showing accurate arrival and departure times from shippers and consignees to be very beneficial,” Buchanan added. “Additionally, our truckload team utilizes the "Off Schedule Dashboard" feature, which displays real time analytics for carrier locations. This functionality allows us to be proactive by providing real-time updates to our customers.”

“It was essential that the partner we selected to provide load tracking has the ability to seamlessly integrate with our TMS,” Buchanan stated. “With MacroPoint we can place a tracking order or modify an existing one and receive location and status updates directly in our application. We have a growing need to track shipments that meet certain requirements for customers and anticipate tracking more than 1,000 shipments per month, so a manual or partially integrated solution is not sufficient. To that end, MacroPoint is the right choice.”

GlobalTranz, based in Scottsdale, AZ, is a logistics company specializing in freight management services, including LTL, truckload, supply chain management and domestic air/expedited shipping for a customer base of over 25,000 shippers.

“Tracking thousands of shipments for GlobalTranz will enable them to leverage the value that our patented freight tracking and real-time location monitoring solution provides,” said Dave Halsema, senior vice president of MacroPoint. “We are pleased that GlobalTranz has chosen MacroPoint to help them continue growing their business while improving the service they provide to shippers.”
