April 24, 2015
Lytx, a video-based driver safety technology provider, has added a chief marketing officer and chief financial officer in an attempt to “further strengthen its already outstanding executive leadership team, and position the company to provide even greater value to its clients,” the company said. The company named Kara Kerker as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, leading all global marketing efforts including marketing strategy, communications and product management. Kelli Richard will take on the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer, leading all finance functions including corporate finance, planning, treasury and accounting. Both will report to Brandon Nixon, chairman and CEO. These additions are effective immediately, Lytx said.“Kara and Kelli bring invaluable experience that perfectly complements that of our existing leadership team,” Nixon said. “Our ability to attract talent of this caliber is a testament to our company and people, our positive culture, and our growth trajectory. We have never been better positioned to take Lytx to the next level for the benefit of our clients.”Kerker has more than 25 years of global marketing experience with a successful track record of developing winning market positions, solutions and products, through strategic marketing system design, scaling, and operational management, according to Lytx.  “Having led a consulting practice for more than a dozen years, Ms. Kerker will apply her deep expertise in building organizations for scale and accelerated growth to advance the benefits Lytx brings to the market and our customers,” the company said.Prior to her consulting practice, Kerker was with Hewlett Packard’s consumer business in the U.S. and Europe for a decade, according to Lytx. The company added that her HP career included leading North American consumer marketing during a period of rapid structural change, expansion, and record growth and market share positions. “I’m thrilled to join such an incredibly talented team that’s pioneered and led the video-based safety category, using technology, analytics and a world-class program to change human behavior, save lives and make great companies even better,” Kerker said. “It’s a great opportunity to make a real difference – within the organization, for our clients, and in the community at large.” Richard is a finance leader with 25 years of experience in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, international operations, mergers and acquisitions, working capital management, and shared services implementation and management, according to the company. “Kelli has a truly impressive track record in the biotech and high tech industries and is the ideal candidate to help the company continue to scale to support its fast growth,” Nixon said. “In prior roles, Kelli has proven herself a key member of leadership teams – driving the design and development of finance organizations, infrastructure and process to support rapid expansion and growth. She will bring her extensive experience to bear providing leadership for our growing business.”Richard joins Lytx from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she most recently led the cross-functional business integration of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Life Science Solutions Group and Life Technologies, following a multi-billion dollar acquisition, Lytx said. Her responsibilities included cost and revenue synergies, functional consolidation, change management, brand transition, quote to cash integration, and site consolidation. Prior to the acquisition, Lytx said, Richard served for seven years as vice president of finance and chief accounting officer at Life Technologies, where she similarly scaled the finance organization as the company experienced similar growth and expansion. For nearly a decade, Richard worked at Gateway during a time of rapid growth and held various leadership positions including vice president and principal accounting officer, the company said. “I was drawn to Lytx for many reasons — the growth trajectory, the work the company does and how we do it – always pursuing new ways to add value for our clients,” Richard said. “I’m energized by joining Lytx at such an exciting time in its history and to help accelerate to the continued success of Lytx and our clients.”
