Among the many things social media has proven good at is allowing residents to vent their frustrations with elected officials. That is never truer than in a snowstorm, particularly when residents feel their streets are not being plowed quickly enough. In part to combat this griping, the Pennsylvania DOT has equipped its plow trucks with GPS. Over 700 trucks will hit the road during storms, and the public will be able to see where they are through the website 511PA.com. PennDOT will also track vehicle movements to improve operational efficiencies.
