Vigillo expands, hires new vp of business development

Vigillo, which is expanding to meet the demands of its customers, has hired two new software developers and is planning to add as many as six more developers to its staff, the company announced. Vigillo also brought on Steve Wilhelms, a safety and risk management professional with over 20 years of experience leading teams in safety, risk management and regulatory compliance, to serve as vice president of business development.

“Vigillo is expanding to meet the increasing demands of customers for our CSA and Athena big data business intelligence solutions,” CEO Steve Bryan said. “Our new software developers will be working on all product lines as we continue to expand the services we offer related to CSA and in the broader world of data analytics in the trucking. Additionally, Steve Wilhelms will be working with our many strategic partners to find new business opportunities in the trucking industry for our existing CSA and Athena data mining solutions.”

Wilhelms’ professional experience includes serving most recently as director of risk management, safety and compliance at 1845 Oil Field Services, Vigillo said. According to the company, Wilhelms served at ISE, the development firm for the FMCSA Wireless Roadside Inspection Program as Director of Safety and Compliance Services; at RAIR – a Division of Lytx, which provides compliance solutions to DOT-regulated fleets – as senior vice president of marketing and business development, and as director of safety for a national commercial property and casualty insurance agency focused on the commercial agribusiness and trucking industries.

He also held safety management roles with other fleets in the building materials, armored transportation services and truckload freight markets and was a law enforcement officer for 10 years in Texas, the company said.

“Steve Wilhelms brings to Vigillo highly valuable experience with FMCSA, OHSA and EPA rules and regulations as well as commercial transportation insurance,” Bryan said. “He has provided the trucking industry with needs analysis, selection and implementation of various safety, compliance and risk management programs utilized by more than half of the nation’s top for-hire and private motor carriers. His exceptional knowledge and skill will benefit Vigillo and its growing customer base.”
