General Truck Sales and Expressway Trucks have been named the 2010 North American Dealers of the Year by Volvo Trucks North America

General Truck Sales and Expressway Trucks have been named the 2010 North American Dealers of the Year by Volvo Trucks North America.

The awards recognize a dealers’ overall operation, evaluating the organizations on performance in new truck and parts sales, growth in market share, penetration of Volvo engines, customer satisfaction index, and investment in facilities.

General, of Muncie, IN, was named the U.S. Dealer of the Year. The company is run by Steve Bassett as dealer principal and employs 47. It is a full-service center offering new and used trucks, full parts and service departments, a paint and body shop, contract maintenance and full-service lease and rental operations.

Expressway was named the Canada Dealer of the Year. Based in Waterloo and Windsor, Ontario, dealer principal Scott Lawson has grown the company into two new and used sales and service locations with 36 mechanical bays and 70 full- and part-time employees. Lawson purchased the dealership in 1999.
