ALK Technologies has introduced PC*Miler Navigator 430, a portable navigation device designed specifically for owner-operators, leased operators and company drivers.

Providing spoken truck-specific directions, the stand-alone device can be easily attached to a truck windshield. It features a 4.3-in. color touchscreen. The navigation software and map data are pre-installed with 7 million street-level miles and 850,000 miles of truck restrictions, such as bridge clearances, load limits, and dangerous turns, the company said.

According to ALK, custom routing options include Practical, Shortest, 53'/102” Trailer, HazMat, National Network, and Toll Avoidance with 13'6” height, 48' length, 80,000 lb. weight, and 96-in. width restrictions.

The system also features multi-stop route optimization that allows users to enter up to 50 stops, providing trip and fuel-cost estimations to help drivers and dispatchers determine the most profitable loads, ALK said.
