To further enhance its broker offerings, Con-way Multimodal, the third-party brokerage arm of Con-way Inc., has implemented McLeod Software’s PowerBroker trucking software platform.

PowerBroker’s web portal will allow Con-way Multimodal customers more visibility into the movement of their freight. The software provides status information and related documents, load history, and performance reports. Customers can also receive quotes and invoices in a more timely fashion, noted the firm.

“Adopting PowerBroker is a critical step toward providing better, faster and more efficient service for our customers, carriers and brokers,” said Tommy Barnes, president, Con-way Multimodal. “This platform enables Con-way Multimodal to get the right information to our customers and carriers when they need it. Plus, our brokers can leverage the system to make more informed decisions about the best business opportunities to pursue. PowerBroker is the perfect solution for Con-way Multimodal and positions us for success.”

According to Con-way Multimodal, PowerBroker will increase load board functionality with major load posting providers. It also will integrate with TransCore Connexion for fast data-searching and posting on the DAT Network.

The software includes imaging workflow and built-in business intelligence with Microsoft SQL Server reporting services, increasing information at the desk level and speed in decision making, the company added.
