Two new offerings from TomTom Business Solutions provide immediate feedback to drivers and tools to fleet managers to help promote safe driving habits.

Active Driver Feedback and WebFleet OptiDrive are tools that TomTom has designed to drive safety and efficiency for businesses. Both products, which are part of the company’s WorkSmart fleet management solution line, will be available in the third quarter, TomTom said.

“We believe that empowering drivers is a key success factor in promoting a safe driving policy,” said Michael Geffroy, vice president of TomTom Business Solutions. “The Active Driver Feedback functionality truly puts the driver center stage in the quest by businesses to improve safety and efficiency on the road, while the information available to fleet managers via OptiDrive helps ensure increased overall fleet efficiencies.”

Active Driver Feedback provides drivers immediate feedback through their TomTom Pro navigation devices. It monitors speeding, harsh steering and braking, and idling.

OptiDrive uses a combination of graphs and reports to display vehicle data such as speeding, idling, and critical driving events in an easy-to-read format. OptiDrive can be tailored to meet individual business needs.

Active Driver Feedback requires a TomTom Pro navigation device with Link 300 required for idling, steering, and breaking notifications. Speeding notifications are based on map data through the Pro device. All functionality requires a TomTom WebFleet subscription.
