TomTom Business Solutions unveiled the TomTom Pro 7150 Truck, a truck-specific routing and navigation solution.

Pro 7150 automates routing, taking into account vehicle profiles and road attributes and restrictions. The device will automatically favor a main road over a secondary road; take into consideration and route trucks around roads with sharp turns and U-turns when possible; and includes a comprehensive collection of truck attributes such as weight and dimension limitations to avoid low-bridge clearances, and load characteristics such as Hazmat restrictions.

The device also includes advanced lane guidance to easily maneuver difficult intersections; hands-free dialing; and a clear 5-in. capacitive touchscreen.

Map attributes are provided by ProMiles.

“ProMiles’ industry-leading commercial transportation data enhances the TomTom PRO 7150 Truck resulting in 17 times more last-mile commercial vehicle coverage,” said Michael Geffroy, vice president of sales, North America for TomTom Business Solutions. “Due to the complexities of commercial vehicle regulations and road restrictions, it is critical to collaborate with a partner that has a long standing expertise on trucking.”

The 7150 also includes nationwide map coverage of national, state and local highways in the U.S. and Canada, and includes last-mile restriction coverage in most major municipalities. There are also over 7 million points of interest.
