GPS tracking firm Waypoint Information Technology Inc. will be changing its name as well as the name of its flagship product. The new name, troo Corp., is part of a strategy by the company to expand its product offerings to include complete solutions for local fleet operations. The company will now offer hardware, installation, provisioning and airtime to round out its tracking product suite.
Also introduced will be billing plans with no long-term contracts. The company’s flagship product, Panorama Tracker, will be renamed trootrack. It is a hosted web GPS tracking service for operators of large fleets. Version 3.3 is also being released. The latest version includes more points-of-interest, improved search capability, faster map navigation and client-side data caching.
As part of the rebranding effort, the company has named Joel Bisson chief operating officer. Previously, Bisson was CEO of PixeLink and Vitana.
