Xata Corp. has become a “value-added reseller” for SkyBitz remote asset management solutions.
The agreement, according to SkyBitz, will further enhance the ability of both companies to provide “a greater holistic solution to help customers maximize their fleets and operations,” said Homaira Akbari, president & CEO, SkyBitz.
According to a study by Cambridge Strategic Management Group, a provider of strategic consulting services, SkyBitz can reduce a fleet’s trailer-to-tractor ratio by about 15%, which, when integrated with Xata’s fleet management solutions, can generate significant savings on fleet operations costs, Xata said.

SkyBitz offers real-time visibility for assets such as trailers. The company’s solutions are compatible with both Xata Turnpike and XataNet and are offered through one-way and two-way satellites, as well as terrestrial and wireless networks.
More than 50 standard reports such as stops/starts, position history, idle time and battery life are available from SkyBitz and all are downloadable for import into spreadsheets. Custom reports are also available.
