LOUISVILLE. A series of “blended learning” programs from ArvinMeritor will mix self-guided online learning, virtual classroom webinars and on-site training for heavy-duty technicians, parts personnel and dealers.
Announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show, the program will include over 100 free online seminars detailing diagnostics and repair procedures for the company’s commercial vehicle products, as well as courses for parts and truck dealers on the features and benefits of ArvinMeritor products. The courses take about 30 to 45 minutes to complete and are available at any time.
The on-site training will be conducted by the company’s distract managers on request at customer sites. Intended for service technicians and managers, they include classroom and hands-on instruction.
Allowing a remote presenter to interact with an audience, ArvinMeritor’s virtual classroom webinars will combine video, sound and graphics to provide service updates, sales training and product information without travel. Sessions will also be recorded and offered in archive form for later viewing or reviewing.

The component manufacturer also announced a new series of greaseable drivelines with 100,000 mi. lubrication intervals in linehaul applications. The Meritor MXL drivelines have the same product ratings and application guidelines as the Meritor 17N, 176N and 18N series. Production is scheduled to begin this summer for new truck and aftermarket retrofit applications.
In other news from the company at the show, a “five for four” offer for the Meritor Tire Inflation System was extended until July 31. Any North American fleet purchasing four retrofit inflation system will receive a fifth free, according to the company. Financing for both the product and labor costs is available through Wirth Financial.
