TMW Systems has announced that a new partnership will provide fleet managers the ability to easily and accurately monitor a vehicle’s location, usage and engine diagnostics data all while compiling the data in a suitable form for International Fuel Tax Agreement reporting.

The reseller and partnership agreement joins TMW’s D2Link software with WebTech Wireless’ WT7000 Locator in-vehicle device. The combination puts the power of D2Link’s cellular handset technology together with advanced GPS location and telematics data provided by WebTech’s Bluetooth-enabled locators.

“This enhanced D2Link solution delivers a much broader range of mobile communications capability,” said Ray West, director-product management for TMW. “Furthermore, it’s scalable for any size trucking operation and can accommodate the 50-truck company as well as the largest heavy-duty truck organization.”

Among the reports available is a driver scorecard that records mileage, fuel economy, idle time, hard braking and over-speeding; average and maximum speed and stop locations; arrival and departure times and odometer readings. A fuel report monitors fuel consumption plus mpg and an ECM fault log monitors vehicle components for failures, the companies said.

The D2Link software allows for handsets incorporating barcode scanners, reducing the chances of a mistake in data entry, TMW said. Handsets with clip-on barcode readers are also available for drivers to conduct scans.
