Truck stops around the world

Sept. 2, 2014

Wabco Holdings has launched its ‘This is #MyTruckStop’ campaign in a bid to collate hundreds of images celebrating the trucking community at truck stops around the world.

Drivers across the globe can share photos of the truck stops they visit on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #MyTruckStop. Participants have a chance to win one of five iPad minis. In addition, the best 300 images will then be selected to help create a specially commissioned piece of ‘Social Art’ – a giant photo mosaic, which will be showcased on the company’s exhibition booth at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014. IAA is one of the industry’s most global trade shows held in Hanover, Germany, from September 23 to October 2.

“At Wabco, we know our innovative safety and efficiency technologies help to keep trucks across the globe on the road, but we also understand how essential regular breaks are for the general wellbeing and safety of drivers,” said Nick Rens, president, Trailer, Aftermarket and Off-Highway Division. “Truck stops are iconic places in our industry as they offer rest, refuelling and a warm welcome for drivers everywhere. We wanted to celebrate the communities that truck stops create and reflect the diversity of these communities. That’s why we’re asking truckers, haulers, and road users for their #MyTruckStop pictures. From being located in the most impressive landscapes, to the hustle of busy high-way mega-truck parks, to simple mobile cafes that regularly have lines of drivers waiting to fill up on a delicious breakfast, every truck stop has a story to tell. By incorporating this real-life imagery in our IAA 2014 stand, we celebrate the very global community we have the privilege to be part of.”

Original photographs can be submitted via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, using the hashtag #MyTruckStop. All entries received will be entered into the prize draw and winners will be notified via Twitter. Entries must be received by 11.59 pm (BST) Sept. 12, 2014. The final selection of images for Wabco’s IAA 2014 booth will be chosen by 15th September and will be available to view online following the exhibition.
