Carrier Corp. has unveiled an online greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculator that determines the impact of choosing sustainable Carrier products on avoiding GHG emissions.

The calculator, the CO2NSERVATION Meter, factors in the installation of high-efficiency Carrier air conditioning, heating or refrigeration systems since 2000 and continually updates the amount of GHG emissions saved.

“Energy efficiency is really a two-part proposition in our business,” said Geraud Darnis, president of Carrier Corp. “We invest in new technologies to advance the efficiency of our products, and building owners invest to secure the benefits of that efficiency in their properties. The Carrier CO2NSERVATION Meter demonstrates the power of that choice.”

Carrier Transicold’s Vector hybrid trailer refrigeration systems and PrimeLine container refrigeration units are among the products included in the calculator.

The CO2NSERVATION Meter compares the projected GHG emissions from select Carrier products to emissions from comparable baseline products, with the difference representing the avoided emissions.

The Meter and more information on green products can be found on Carrier’s microsite at www.carrier.com/green.
