A 2011 Kenworth T660 with the brand’s first production Paccar MX diesel engine has been delivered to Costco Wholesale Corp. at their headquarters in Issaquah, WA. The big-box retailer operates a private fleet of 300 trucks, all Kenworths leased through Paccar Leasing.
“We already operate 150 Kenworth T660s in our fleet. Teaming the fuel-efficient Paccar MX engine with the aerodynamic T660 will help Costco attain additional fuel efficiency gains while also reducing emissions,” said fleet manager and vp of Depot Operations Sarah Mogk.
Introduced earlier this year, the Paccar MX is a 12.9-liter diesel that meets both Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions standards for 2010. It produces 380 to 485 HP and offers peak torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft.
Handing over the keys to its first production MX-powered tractor, Kenworth gm and Paccar vp Bill Kozek said: “Costco is an industry leader in seeking ways to enhance fuel efficiency and will certainly benefit from the Paccar MX engine’s industry-leadingfuel efficiency and reliability.”
